Portland-New York Trade Idea

Thanks to Ryne Supplit for help on this trade scenario.

Portland Trades to New York:
Sebastian Telfair PG
Theo Ratliff C
Rueben Patterson SF
Portland First Rounder via Detriot

New York Trades to Portland:
Channing Frye C
Penny Hardaway SG/SF
Nate Robinson PG

I like this trade for several reasons. Yes, we lose Telfair but we get Nate Robinson, another lightning-quick point gaurd with potential, in return. We also get one of the best, if not the best, young center prospect in the league right now. This also provides us with roughly 14 million in cap room and insurance in case Pryzbilla leaves. New York goes for it cause they get a Theo and Rube, two guys they are very high on. They also get Telfair, which allows them to make a much-needed trade of Marbury, and a pick out of the deal. I really don't have a problem with getting rid of Telfair in this scenario not only because of what we get in return, but also because of the fact that Telfair wishes to play in NY someday anyways, so we deal with that situation now and get something out of it as opposed to in a couple oif years when he bolts in free agency and we get nothing back.

Isaih's dumb, but he ain't that dumb. Robinson is a short SG, not a PG. Good stuff though. Welcome to the exciting world of Trail Blazer blogging.

Thanks. Yeah it's more of a pipe dream but hey, with Isaih you never know.
