Chicago Trade Idea

Portland trades Rube and Zach Randolph to Chicago for Tim Thomas.

WHY: They get the PF they need and a hustle guy off the bench, we get a 13 million dollar expiring contract and 5 million in cap relief this offseason or 16 million next offseason if we keep it intact. The Bulls plan on making a run at Al Harrington in the offseason, but should they decide that he is out of the picture they will still need a PF so this may be an option. Probably unlikely though because Harrington's a FA.

how do we get the power foward we need if we give up zach and let go Thomas at the end of the season?

We don't get the PF, they do. We'd make do with some combo of Darius/Outlaw/Kryhapa. Or, this would leave us free to trade Theo, Rube and our lottery pick for Channing Frye and Penny. Frye could play the four.

ya sorry i misread your post, but i guess this would be a pretty good trade for the possible youth movement. If this trade actually occured i would hope that our starting lineup would be: Telfair, Outlaw, Kryhappa, Miles, and Joel.

I like this trade. But, I would only do this if we sent Miles and Theo to NY for Penny and David Lee. Imagine the cap room.
