LA Lakers Trade Idea

Portland trades Steve Blake for Brian Cook and a second rounder.

WHY: Lakers get the PG they need, we get a big man who can plug for Theo/Joel until they get healthy with an expiring contract and a pick that can be packaged with other picks/players to acquire something of greater value.

This is a good trade, as long as the Lakers bite. I would actually keep cook after the season ends as well.

I would do it but wouldn't keep Cook...not enough of a banger down low.

Well that's true. But what you lose with Cook down low, he makes up for with his ability to spread the defense with his shot, bringing the shot blockers out of the key and making it easier for guys like Darius, Travis, Dixon, Telfair, and Jack to drive to the hoop.

Steve Blake is way better than Brian Cook.

yes, that's why we get a pick as well-maybe a future first instead of a second rounder
