Roster Evaluation: Ha Seung-Jin
And now for the nightly comedy routine.
Ha is currently a joke of an NBA center. How anyone who is 7' 5" tall can stand flat footed and watch as the rebound soars over his head and is rebounded by the lowly 6' gaurd is totally beyond me. Quite frankly, I think this is caused by his enormous size. He is so tall, that while his brain does tell him to rebound, it takes the message so long to travel through his body that it does not reach his arms and legs until it is far too late. His game is full of holes. He can't defend without hacking the opponent (and almost commiting accidental homicide and 5 fouls in the process), can't rebound nearly as well as he should be able to, can't pass, and lacks a general understanding of the game. Anyone who has watched a Blazer game and seen him racing around the court at full speed looking completely lost with that rediculous haircut that makes him look like a tremendously-deformed two year old bobbing at full speed knows what I mean. That being said, he is 7'5" with some potential, a decent spot-up jumper and a great work ethic, so I'm not going to give up on him yet. To improve, he needs playing time and seasoning, so a D-League stint might do him well.
