Roster Evaluation: Travis Outlaw

The jury is still out on Travis Outlaw. Although his game has been consistently improving, he is still haunted by the fact that his mental understanding of the game on both ends of the court is lacking. He struggles at times to grasp Nate's diffcult offense, and needs to make better decisions on defense at times. There have been many instances when this kid could've made a play if he had tried to tone it down and make the fundamentaly sound move as opposed to going for the Sports Center highlight on every play. However, this kid still has enormous upside. His athletisism, gigantic wingspan, rapidly-improving strength, rebounding and jumper, good outside range, and his ability to create on the fly and get his own shot should lead to long-term success and possible stardom. Don't give up on him yet.

Travis's offensive game has improved so dramatically its unbelievable. With his work ethic combined with his athleticism he WILL be a star in this league. The Blazers better not deal this kid, or else it will be Jermaine O'Neal all over again.
