Toronto Trade Idea

Portland trades Theo and Charles Smith to Toronto for Eric Williams, Alvin Williams and a future draft pick.

WHY: We get two expiring contracts (one being a body that can fill in down low for the rest of the year) and a pick that gives us another bargaining chip. They get a big man to go alongside Chris Bosh, seeing as (regardless of what their fans think) they are not going to get Pryzbilla.

What I like about this trade isn't the expiring contracts or the dump off of an injury proned center, I like the fact that it takes away Toronto's chances of signing Joel Pryzbilla.

no...they still will have the money to go after Pryz (unfortunately)

You're right, but if they have a decent center they will be less inclined to pursue Joel.
