L: Dallas Mavericks 93, Blazers 87

We played them close, and they didn't get their first lead until mid-way through the fourth quarter. The effort and determination was definitely there, and this tema plays much better when at least one of our shot blocking centers is healthy. Steve Blake played like a god (12 pts 5 asts), Juan Dixon had a nice game for once (17 pts on 6 of 9 shooting), Theo had a great first game back (6 pts 6 rbs 3 blcks) and Zach showed lots of desire, heart and the willingness to step up his game and carry the entire team on his back (33 pts 8 rbs). Darius didn't have a good game at all, but I think this and his other poor performances of late can be atrributed more to the pain coming from his surgically repaired knee than it can to, as some including a certain balding columnist might suggest, a lack of desire or effort.

John Canzano: God ... hardly, this is the same guy who flip flops more than John Kerry. Canzano just tries to piss people off with his articles, and it works.
